ABOUT OUR CLIENT & Model/Z
Our client is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. Our client is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. Our client currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities.
Our client's new venture affiliate is reinventing multifamily housing creation by building the first and only standardized modular housing factory. The new venture platform is a comprehensive manufacturing system designed, engineered, and built to consistently produce a high-quality, low-cost, net-zero ready, and most importantly, standardized, modular housing product. The new venture is a Black-owned and operated business based in Southern California that will deliver between 1,000 - 1,500 modular housing units per year by 2025. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Study and diligently follow work instructions essential for task completion
  • Operate production equipment proficiently and utilize assembly hand tools effectively
  • Read and confirm the parts list, interpret measurements, and verify specifications for accurate assembly
  • Precisely and efficiently assemble modular housing components according to design specifications and blueprints
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and promptly report and resolve assembly line issues
  • Conduct thorough quality checks at each stage of assembly to ensure adherence to standards and specifications
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to assemble, fasten, and secure modular housing elements
  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the assembly process, collaborating with the team to find effective solutions
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment
  • Work closely with fellow assemblers, engineers, and other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive team dynamic
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, noting any deviations from standard procedures
  • Conserve resources and supplies to minimize waste and contribute to sustainability efforts

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience working in an assembly environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, cranes, and forklifts for assembly tasks
  • Experience working with computers and manufacturing execution systems
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions and solve problems effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong focus on precision and quality in all aspects of assembly.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team to achieve common goals.
  • Capacity to identify and troubleshoot assembly issues with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and adjusting to changes in project requirements.
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed. This role will be covering 1st shift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
